Pizza slices, meatballs, 30 different Virginia craft beers being served
Pizzeria Paradiso is helping celebrate Virginia Craft Beer Month in August. The scenic Alexandria waterfront will be the backdrop to a summertime beer festival, Pizzeria Paradiso in the Park, with 30 different Virginia craft breweries taking part. Pizzeria Paradiso is readying a day of pizza slices and meatballs, prepared in its mobile brick ovens. The event will take place Saturday, August 3, 12 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Select Virginia craft breweries will participate, including Aleworks, Albemarle Cider, Ardent, Aslin, Blue Bee Cider, Caboose, Champion, Crooked Run, Commonwealth, Fair Winds, Hardywood, Lickinghole Creek, Lost Rhino, Old Bust Head, Old Ox, Ono, Port City, Rocket Frog, Solace, Vasen, and more. These beer selections are picked by Drew McCormick, Pizzeria Paradiso’s executive beverage director.
Due to WMATA Metro station closures on the Blue Line, festival-goers should consider water taxi, Metro Bus or Capital Bikeshare travel options. Additionally, garage parking will be available for a $2 all-day fee, said the announcement. Purchase tickets at the event for food and beer, priced at $5 and $6 per serving, respectively.
