Love is in the air and in the food at local restaurants

Love is in the air and unique, delicious dishes are on the plate as Washington, D.C. patrons and restaurants celebrate Valentine’s Day soon. There’s a bit of romance to be had in every bite. At Supra, there are special dishes to turn up the charm factor, and the restaurant will also serve the traditional menu. Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons Hotel offers a prixe-fixe dinner and a cozy retreat on the patio. Meanwhile, Patsy’s in Tyson’s has a curated selection of recommended dishes and the adjoining Randy’s Steakhouse is showing a film. And Astro Doughnuts readies boxes of mini take-home treats.

Here are some tasty celebrations:

Bourbon Steak

Bourbon Steak plans a prix-fixe menu for $120. Appetizers include Hamachi Crudo with fish pepper vinaigrette, Meyer lemon and benne seed. Entree choices include Day Boat Scallops with cauliflower, tahini, and a caper vinaigrette. For a sweet takeaway, the restaurant will provide guests with “luscious Bourbon-infused Truffles” as a memorable takeaway.

On the patio, cozy Bubbles pods are available for rent during all of February. Guests can choose to chill out in these unique Bubbles in the style of Dom Perignon, Krug and Ruinart Champagne. In addition to the clinking of flutes of champagne, Chef Drew Adams fires up the kitchen and curates delicious meals delicately-paired.

Patsy’s + Randy’s

Patsy’s American and Randy’s Prime Seafood & Steaks also beckon couples on Valentine’s Day. At Patsy’s American, specials include the Wood Grilled Filet Mignon with Crispy Tempura Fried Lobster Tail, mustard dipping sauce and au jus. The six-ounce filet version go for $34 and 8-ounce filets cost $38. In the adjacent space, Randy’s Prime Seafood and Steaks diners have the option to be seated in the Tierney Room for a special screening of Casablanca and Roman Holiday.

Supra

Georgian restaurant Supra is presenting a special Valentine’s Day appetizer of raw Oysters Trio with pomegranate & tarragon ($10). Supra will offer entree specials, too. A Suckling Pig with roasted squash ghomi, a traditional Georgian porridge, is one of them, priced at $25. Supra will also feature a Trout with charred tomato, roasted eggplant and purple basil for $27, and a Duck Breast accompanied by blackberry sauce and gold potatoes, priced at $25.

Astro Doughnuts + Astro Beer Hall

For those looking for take-home sweets only, Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken will offer a special Valentine’s Day box of mini doughnuts. The box pairs Astro’s popular crème brûlée doughnut with February’s featured varieties. Customers can pre-order the Valentine’s boxes for pick-up at the D.C. or Falls Church Locations from February 12-16. Otherwise, take your chances at stores, where the doughnut shop chain will stock a limited selection.

At sister Astro Beer Hall in D.C., a strawberry heart-shaped doughnut comes with a boozy finish. The Valentine’s Day doughnut is topped with red nonpareils, dark chocolate drizzle, and a small shot of Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, priced at $5.25. Astro Beer Hall will offer the decadent treat (for those 21 and over) from February 12-16.
