Taco Rock offers hot popper of a challenge in Rosslyn

February contest offers winner $100 prize, bragging rights

Taco Rock in Rosslyn, Va. will hold its inaugural Hot Popper Challenge Monday February 24. During the challenge to find out who can take home the Taco Rock Title Belt, guests will experience first hand the spirit of the fight. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. with the winner taking bragging rights and the $100 top prize. Entry fees cost $10 per person.

According to the announcement, “Each contestant will be served up a plate of jalapeño pepper poppers. They must eat as many flaming hot poppers as they can in ten minutes, one popper at a time, to within one quarter inch of the jalapeño cap. This recently-opened taqueria by Chef Mike Cordero will also award second and third place prizes. Each will receive a medal and Taco Rock gift card. Spectators are welcome for the fun-filled night; however, the restaurant recommends an RSVP as space is limited.
