In the spring, new stores will be opening in the high-traffic neighborhoods of Ballston Quarter and Downtown Rosslyn in Virginia. Mission Navy Yard in D.C. launches brunch

Mission Navy Yard, a Mexican restaurant and bar in Washington, D.C.’s Capitol Riverfront neighborhood, recently launched brunch. Mission is a massive space that includes the city’s longest bar at 150 feet. The managing co-partners are Fritz Brogan and Reed Landy. Executive chef Roberto Hernandez is at the helm of this kitchen, whipping up creative Mexican staples, including tacos, enchiladas, nachos, brunch speciality items… Delicious brunch items and tasty cocktails abound on Mission’s brunch menu, including the Mission Margarita—el Jimador Silver, Triple Sec, fresh-squeezed lime juice and simple syrup.

Kevin Tien of Himitsu to open new Capitol Hill restaurant with Dim-Sum style

One of the biggest names in Washington, D.C. will be opening a new restaurant in Capitol Hill. Kevin Tien, executive chef and co-owner of Himitsu, a James Beard finalist chef and Food and Wine’s Best New Chef in 2018, will help open Emilie’s, a new restaurant with 3,313 square-feet of space at the Penn Eleven condominium building… Sam Shoja and partner Arris Noble, will help spearhead the venture. Tien’s role in bringing unique, Japanese-inspired cuisine to Himitsu.

Brazilian Amazon Culinary Week arrives at Siren by RW

Rising star Sasha Felikson tapped for Julii, an upcoming French-Mediterranean concept at Pike and Rose

The French-Mediterranean concept from the founders of fast-casual CAVA and Cava Mezze should be opening by September at Pike and Rose. Ted Xenohristos, Ike Grigoropoulos, and Dimitri Moshovitis—the same three innovators who founded the CAVA and Cava Mezze concepts—are launching Julii. Their new project, Julii, is a sit-down restaurant and the CAVA founders have hired Sasha Felikson of Doi Moi fame as executive chef.
